Look at this face...looks like he's up to no good! Actually he looks just like his daddy when he was little. Same long face. Same quirky smile. This is what I call his "fake" smile. I love that "fake" smile though! I could just kiss it right off! Well here's little Miss Thing. See that purse? She thinks she has to carry a purse or baby around everywhere. I think that it's soooo cute. Who wouldn't?! It's crazy to me that whether your a boy or a girl, you have that instinct. She just knows that she needs to carry her baby and/or her purse everywhere. Even to bed.

Hudson isn't a bad photographer. I thought he was definitely going to be my weather man or a dairy farmer. (stories for another post.) He caught Avery in a moment. It's so cute of her. This was before church on Sunday. We actually were ready like 30 minutes early! That's a first. We had a few extra minutes to snap some pics and to go by Mickey D's for an unsweet tea (with splenda of course) for mommy.

Here is the new swingset. We got a great deal from my co-worker. It's only 2 years old! Hudson loves it, Avery loves it, and all of the neighbor kids love it. I need to get a pic of all of them playing on it next time. Just a thought. ( I'll put that on the next to-do list mentally)

Do you recognize that sweet little baby face in the middle? That is my sweet little Avie Lu! She won 2nd place in the DuQuoin State Fair baby contest in her age group. I was so excited. This is also the picture she won 4th place with the SIH baby contest. She will be coming out in some advertisements for SIH soon! I will keep you all posted of when and where. All of the contests that I enter her in

1. do not have a fee

2. are just for fun

3. do not win any prizes, just bragging rights.

Some of the contests can get a little out of control, and we are not in it for craziness! just for fun.

Ok...well about that to-do list... I think I got 5 out of 10 things done today.

1. get haircut (much needed)

2. 1 birthday gift out of the 3 I need for this weekend. YIKES!
3. Make bows for several people. I believe I stayed up until midnight making bows last night. As soon as I layed my little head down...Miss Thing woke up screaming. She decided to scream and thrash around for like 2 hours or more. TIRING! She either had a belly ache or I think another tooth is on it's way (molar too!) I hate those.

I finished sewing the corn bags for the bagg-o toss redo. Here's my man trying it out. Not bad for finding on the side of the road and repainting, heh?

We also started on some organizational projects...remember the frames? Hopefully I will post pics before the weekend.

Just a little sneak peak...

I've been up to alot with frames. I've become obsessed. My husband tells me I need to stop, but it's an addiction. I'll post some pictures hopefully tomorrow of what I've made out of these. below is a couple of items that I bought at the flea market. I haven't figured out where they are going in the house, but I just had to have them...and they were a good price. The 4 ceramic medallions were $1 for ALL and the scroll was $4.

Just some stuff I've been up to. I still can't figure out how to rotate my pics which is a problem because I take alot of vertical pics. Uh-oh.

Avie Lu's 1st Birthday

My little girl is 1 !!!! WOW...where has the first year gone? We had a swim/watermelon party in our backyard. She loves watermelon so I thought that it would be the perfect theme for her 1st birthday party. (Plus her birthday is in August, so it's a perfect combo.) She loved her cake! She had it ALL over. Good thing we had the kiddie pool out too, we just dipped her in it after she was done eating. :)

I made most of the decorations to save on money and also to be crafty and different. I wish I had better pictures of the tables and banner. The each section on the banner looks like a slice of watermelon with the seeds too! The tables were covered with red tablecloths and I added black stones to add the touch of seeds! I found that idea on the internet by searching watermelon themed parties. I thought it was genious!

Below is the photo buckets I made for extra decor. There were 4 buckets (0-3 mo,3-6mo, and so on). I added a memo of what our little girl was doing at each month.

FYI...I don't bake or cook. So this cupcake creation was made by Kroger. I LOVED how it turned out! And I didn't have to cut cake. They are each individual cupcakes! E-A-S-Y!!!!! That's how I like it.

I couldn't post birthday pictures without this one. My cousin Donna made this dress for Avery and brought it over the night before her party. I loved it, Avery loved it, and I love Donna. Thanks Donna. I love your creativity!

Ok...so I'm still trying to figure out this blog and I have no idea why this picture is sideways when I didn't upload it that way. I'll figure it out later.

Hello Blog World!

Hello all you blog readers. I've been thinking about starting a blog for about a year now, but never thought I had the time to get started and keep up. Well, hubbers is out with the guys and the kiddos are asleep :) so...I decided to check it out. I figure as much as I'm reading all of these blogs, I should have a few extra minutes to spare to write a little something from time to time. I guess the main things I will be blogging about is my kids (the joys of my life) and some thrifty decorating ideas. I love anything cheap and different and doesn't take much of my time. BECAUSE...I don't have much time being a working mommy of 2 (almost 5 year old and 1 year old) and married to a wonderful man that doesn't always love his "honey-do list".
